Looking after your Olive Oil Soap Bar

Olive oil soap bars can last a long time, cured olive oil soaps get harder as time goes on and also create a finer and richer lather when using them.
Typically a single person using an olive oil soap bar (from testing our own soaps) should get several weeks use out of a single bar (some of ours have lasted over a month for some users). Of course, how long a soap bar lasts depends on a wide range of factors, with the amount of use, length of time per wash, etc.
One of the biggest things for the longevity of olive oil soap bars is to not let it rest on a flat surface with water. This will erode the bar quickly. I had one customer explain that their kids would leave the soap on the shower floor. Unfortunately, their soap bar did not last long in this environment.
Where possible avoid the use of flat dish soap holders, the best type of soap holder is a wire rack or thin bamboo rack. Some examples of these holders are below.

These soap holder racks will allow excess water to disperse and help 'dry' out your soap quick, which will preserve it for longer use. It may seem odd to keep your soap 'dry' in the shower but if you can avoid your soap bar sitting in water, the longer it will last.
Hope that this has helped you with some tips to get the most out of your olive oil soap bar and continue to enjoy the great feel of naturally made olive oil soap.
All the best,
Tony
