"It's just soap... Right?"

Soap, most of us use it everyday, and many may not think what is in their soap.
Many people that ask about my products and why it is different to other store bought soap.
One of the main reasons I started The Olive Leaf Co was after looking at the list of ingredients in the liquid soap that I was using, I could not believe the amount of additives added to the product.
Below is a list of ingredients in a typical store bought liquid soap (not mentioning any names here):
Aqua, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Cocamide MEA, Citric Acid, Limonene, Tetrasodium EDTA, Salicylic Acid, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Magnesium Nitrate, EDTA, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, Methylisothiazolinone, Parfum, CI 15510, CI 17200., Water, Cetrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, PEG-150 Distearate, Lauramine Oxide, Cocamide MEA, Benzalkonium Chloride, Citric Acid, Rubus Idaeus Juice, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Propylene Glycol, Trideceth-9, Bisabolol, Potassium Sorbate, Sorbic Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, PPG-12-Buteth-16, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, CI 17200, CI 15510.
Long list, right?
Whilst many of these ingredients are harmless, a general Google search on some of these ingredients show some worrying traits where people can experience skin irritations and other adverse health side effects.
Many of these ingredients should not be needed in producing a simple everyday product, soap. Even if the risk to adverse symptoms from these ingredients is very low, why even be exposed to them if you do not have to?
Below is a list of ingredients in our liquid soap (Citrus Blend):
Water, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Essential Oil (Orange and Lemon), Lye (Sodium Hydroxide), Australian White Clay, Australian Yellow Clay
All natural ingredients produce an all natural product.
The goodness of olive oil, containing Vitamin A, D, K and E can help moisturise and nourish your skin naturally.
No doubt you would use soap several times in a day, if you are using a generic, store bought soap, I encourage you to check what is in your product and maybe try our natural soaps.
Thank you
Tony - The Olive Leaf Co
